Schedules are published by airlines. Whether they follow is left as an exercise. Doesn't make it an oxymoron. Hell, busses are late once in a while. that a schedule exists doesn't guarantee it will be adhered to 100%. Crap happens, deal.

What I find amusing about airline schedules, is that they know most of the time the plane will not be landing/taking off “on time”, however the schedules are printed by specific minutes, i.e. Arriving 5:03 pm. Why not 5:00 or 5:15?

Maybe its a hidden 3 to 12 minute leverage the airlines use to soothe the passenger. For me 5:03 sounds better than 5:00.

Myself, and Josephina do not agree that this is an oxymoron. We feel it doesn’t make sense.
