Second anthropologist opinion here. If the United States population's collective history, connections, beliefs, and current actions by your definition is not 'culture' because the people themselves have genetic roots from around the world, then let us examine the question, "How far back does one's genetic history have to go in a region before one is considered integrated 'culturally' within that region?" If we make recent immigration and settlement the criteria by which we disqualify a prospective cultural presence, then we must also define 'recent' within that context. Under your theory, one might possibly say that the only human settlement on earth with a culture is the San tribe in Africa. Everyone can from somewhere. Most Americans may have emigrated more recently from their respective countries of origin, but it is hardly the first time a country's inhabitants have blended their cultures, languages, beliefs, and lifestyles together- nor, of course, will it be the last.

American Indians were not the first here. In fact they were drop offs in about the middle of the migration of man as he spread from Africa to the Americas.

For those not understanding what the commenter was trying to tell you, you should probably watch " the journy of man" if describes how over 50,000 years man migrated from Africa to all other parts of that world.

However the poster who said that culture is created it correst. Groups that dropped off and began living according to values they created, along with languages they created and more. became cultures.
