Scientific Polling
Polls can — and are — biased in at least two important ways: (1) Question selection/phrasing — What is inquired about (and isn’t inquired about) as well as how the questions are asked can greatly effect respondents answers (2) Sample Selection — Who are considered appropriate/relevant respondents will likewise effect results, since most (if not all) polls will screen out respondents based on characteristics the pollsters deem unavailing to their purposes (legitimate or otherwise). These factors render polling something less than “scientific”.
